        Have you ever waited so long for something to happen, then when it actually does it is the biggest disappointment ever? That is exactly how I felt watching the finale of Lost , the makers of the how completely blew it.It still puzzles thousands of people of loved the series. Another time I have felt like this was when my classmates and I put bubble wrap in a vacuum tank for chemistry. We were expecting a big boom and got nothing but a little poof of air. Or when I work hard on a project and I personally think it's great, then I get a bad grade. My point is most things in life are very unexpected. This also happens in novels such as The Lord of The Flies. I was not surprised when Simon died because there was some foreshadowing as to why he would be killed, however, I was surprised for Piggy's death. Welcome back readers! So this week I decided to go back to a topic i brought up weeks ago, the t.v show Lost.  Last time we discussed morals and ethics within a character named Michael, well this week I am going to discuss another character named John Locke. John was born an orphan, his mother being very young and dumb. He was given up for adoption and lived his life from foster home to foster home, often being treated unfairly and seen as an outcast. He was bullied by the children of his foster parents and he kept to himself, quietly playing backgammon. When John was older his mother found him, telling him his father wanted to meet him. John reconnected with his father under the impression that his father wanted to meet his son and be the father he never was. However, his father was an international scammer and was using John to steal his kidney. He made himself look sympathetic so that John would think it was his idea to donate his kidney, but it was his plan all along. ...

       As you can see i have finally edited the theme of my blog. I am still trying to figure out how to make it work. Anyway, in English class, we started talking about leadership and the qualities of leaders. This is also a topic we have been talking about in ROTC. In the book Lord of The Flies , the leader, Ralph, is chosen to be leader because he is the one who blew the conch and gathered them all to the beach. Nobody knew him or what qualities make him a leader. As the book goes on he begins to fill this role. He is focused on the rescue of him and the boys. Meanwhile Jack, who we thought was leader-like, is drifting away from that. He has developed a blood lust and just wants to kill and hunt. I think this is the result of not killing the pig the first time. He feels the need to redeem himself. He also is very disrespectful to Piggy, leaders should treat all of his followers equally. In school we are reading Lord of The Flies . The book tells the story of a plane full of children, specifically all male, that crash land on an uninhabited island. On the island one of the children named Ralph finds a big conch shell. The Conch is used as a beacon to gather the remaining survivors and symbolizes power. To be allowed to speak in the group, you must be holding the conch shell. It also symbolizes the children's humanity. The children at first act like crazed animals, some stripping naked once they reached the beach because of the blazing sun. However, they act more civilized when he with the shell is speaking. In chapter two of the book, the boys make a signal fire on top of a mountain. One of the main characters and leader like figures, Jack, has soot on his hands and holds the clean, delicate shell in his hands. This could represent corruption in leadership such as dirty cops and congressmen. The delicacy of the shell shows how easily leadership could be "brok...

I recently started watching a TV show called Lost that aired on ABC over a decade ago. It is about a plane that crashes on a mysterious island while on its way to LA from Sydney. The crew believes they are alone but soon finds out they are not. In fact, there is a whole other island they are unaware of that is full of people, but these people aren't especially good. The characters in the show come across problems that force them to question their moral standards. I am currently watching season 3 episode 6 "I Do". Recently, a character by the name of Michael lost his son Walter. Walt was taken by the people from the other island that the characters in the show call "Others". Michael goes crazy looking for his son and ends up being captured while searching for his son. In order to get his son back, and an opportunity to get off the island, they ask Michael to bring them four people from the island, who were Michael's friends. They gave him a list of the four...

  I Bet You're All Wondering Why I Gathered You Here Today         This is, as you could see, my first blog. This assignment is forced upon the children of Mr. Jackson's class. My day so far was swell. I purchased some sugar and salt treats from third period ROTC. It didn't last till this period.  I also started reading Batman: The Long Halloween which is a mystery comic. So far it is going well. It is about a killer that murders family members of gang leaders every holiday. Its a comic so i will probably finish soon. I have gym in two periods, I hope we go outside so i could play tennis, even though I am terrible at it. I always hit the tennis ball as if it were a baseball and hit at least 5 balls out every gym day. One of the few sports where power is not needed, but patients and skill is, such as golf, which i am also bad at. I am running out of things to say, it is my first blog however, I will probably push out more entertaining...

  Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis "the wise"? I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. It's ironic he could saveothers from death, but not himself.
